Looking back at it, the year of 2011 was a wild year. LeBron James and the Miami fell short in the NBA Finals, HBO debuted Game of Thrones and Ray J called in to The Breakfast Club to talk about Fabulous. In the midst of all that was going on, an artist by the name of A$AP Rocky emerged out of Harlem. Powered by the singles “Peso” and “Purple Swag,” A$AP Rocky broke on to the scene with a unique sense of style and a sound that paid homage to the Houston Hip-Hop scene. Then, A$AP Rocky cemented himself with the mixtape, Live. Love. A$AP. From “Demons” to “Brand New Guy” with ScHoolboy Q, A$AP Rocky broke down the door and opened up the gate for the A$AP Mob to flourish musically.
Like many projects of the time, Live. Love. A$AP. lived on DatPiff, YouTube and several other unofficial streaming sites. Within the last few years, there’s been a push to move classic projects like J. Cole’s Friday Night Lights, Big Sean’s Detroit and several of Lil Wayne’s Dedication projects on to DSPs. Fortunately, the time has come for Live. Love. A$AP. to live on Spotify, Apple Music, etc. Relive the project below and prepare for the next era of A$AP Rocky’s music career.
