Anthony Barr is the top free agent linebacker in the 2019 offseason but the biggest name is making the biggest flip-flop off the offseason. Barr had reportedly agreed to join the New York Jets late on Monday night but on Tuesday afternoon, those plans changed in a blink.
For reasons not yet known Barr has decided to go back on his reported agreement with the Jets and elected to ink a deal with the Minnesota Vikings, a team he has known since he was drafted in 2014.
Following comes from Mike Garofolo and Ian Rapoport of the NFL Network and Adam Schefter of ESPN.
After telling the Jets he intended to sign with them, Anthony Barr got cold feet, changed his mind and informed the Vikings that he will be returning to Minnesota, as @MikeGarafolo reported.

The #Vikings are signing LB Anthony Barr to a 5-year deal worth $67.5M, source said. With incentives it can be worth $77.5M. He gets $33M in guarantees. And back home.

Almost every year in free agency there’s a player who fails a physical, changes his mind or winds up on another team that the one initially planned. This year it’s Anthony Barr.

It could be the money, it could be the familiarity of Minnesota or it could be a misstep in the reporting. Either way, it looks like the Vikings are returning a vital piece of their potentially top tier defense next season.
