In recent weeks, Marvel fans have sifted through rumors suggesting that actor Andrew Garfield would return as Spider-Man in the upcoming film, Spider-Man: No Way Home. For weeks on end, these rumors made their way from social media to television. Fortunately, Garfield has offered some insight regarding the validity of these reports.
“I can’t speak for anything else, but for myself. They might be doing something, but I ain’t got a call,” he said during a recent interview.
“I see how often Spider-Man is trending and it’s like people freaking out…And I’m just like, ‘guys, guys, guys’ — I wish I could just be able to speak to everyone and say, ‘I recommend that you chill.”
Garfield has put these rumors to bed and Spider-Man: No Way Home will move forward with its new lead, Tom Holland. Later this year, Holland will take on the role alongside his co-stars Zendaya, J.B. Smoove and Jamie Foxx. The film is currently scheduled to be released on December 17, 2021.
