Two days before Swae Lee’s eighth birthday, a 19-year-old singer from New York skyrocketed to the top of the charts with her debut album, Songs In A Minor. That singer is Alicia Keys and all of these years later, she’s still around. In fact, she’s slated to perform at the 2021 MTV Video Music Awards this weekend. Prepping for that incredible performance, she tapped in with a grown-up Swae Lee for a new track called “LALA.
Produced by Mike WiLL Made-It, the track has a very laid-back vibe. Going back and forth, Swae Lee sings about falling in love faster than he planned to while Alicia Keys tries to lure him in further.
“Put it on me, like you said you was/Fell so hard like you said you was/Love out of this world, out of this nebula/It’s best to just put you on my schedule,” Alicia Keys sings.
“Light the incense, not to mention/Skin like whiskey/She’s cold like on the rocks,” Swae Lee adds.
