Alicia Keys has released her seventh studio album, Alicia. The album features production from Swizz Beatz, The Dream and Ludwig Göransson. Miguel, 21 Savage and Khalid also make appearances on the project.
When discussing the album, Keys says that the process of creating this project helped her discover things about herself. Furthermore, Keys felt that along the way she was compelled to do things in a non-traditional manner.
“I’m enjoying discovering who I am and who I want to be because it works for me,” Keys said.
“And being really conscious about being aware of not falling into that same pattern that I’ve often been quite often used to, of doing things because its what’s always been done.”
Keys continues to add to her recent work. The New York native previously appeared in a Verzuz battle with John Legend. She also appeared on NPR’s Tiny Desk series. More recently, she performed during the NFL’s season opener between the Houston Texans and Kansas City Chief. Adding on, she teamed up with the pro football league to launch a $1 billion fund to support Black-owned businesses.
Keys’ latest work is now available through all major streaming platforms. Check out the project above.
