Energy is a six-letter word that can amplify the presence of an artist or artists from being the biggest thing in their neighborhood to the biggest thing in the world. If there’s one thing AG Club has, it is presence. Coming from the Bay Area, AG Club is a collective of artists working all mediums from rapping to production to visuals. Their creative range allows them to go from making alternative R&B records to aggressive club hits and beyond.
“We make shit that we like to listen to,” AG Club said during an interview.
Their latest single is an example of the energy and range they bring to the next generation. “Memphis Part II” with A$AP Ferg and NLE Choppa is just a glimpse of what they can be moving forward. While paying homage to the all-time great group, Three 6 Mafia, the visuals for the single highlight their out-of-the-box way of presenting their music. From upside-down shots to reverse footage and much more, the video is reminiscent of the unique style found in early Busta Rhymes and Missy Elliott videos.
AG Club doesn’t just stop with their newest video. Last year, the collective broke on to the scene nationally with the release of their debut album, Halfway Off The Balcony. In 2021, expect much more of the same. Not to mention, AG Club seems to be the type of group that will fair well when festivals open back up post-coronavirus epidemic. For now, check out their video below and expect them to be featured in #FirstToTheAux very soon.
