Steph Curry is about to become the center of A24’s next project. The production studio that has brought the world Euphoria, Moonlight and Uncut Gems have enlisted Ryan Coogler to produce a film about Curry’s rise to stardom at Davidson College in 2008. Curry infamously led the Wildcats to the Elite 8 while taking down Gonzaga, Georgetown and Wisconsin. Not long thereafter, he entered the NBA Draft where he was selected by the Golden State Warriors. From there, the rest is history.
Coogler and A24 will work alongside director Pete Nicks to bring this story to life. Nicks and Coogler previously worked on Homeroom, a film that follows an Oakland high school as it balances budget cuts, Black Lives Matter protests, COVID-19 pandemic and much more. It is set to hit Hulu later this month.
Meanwhile, Curry will continue to work on a variety of television and film projects. He currently has his hand in a short film called Cancer Alley and a reboot of the game show, Tattletales. In addition, he’s helping produce a one-off special of the classic series, Good Times.
