Boasting perhaps the most promising young core in all of basketball, the Philadelphia 76ers enter the 2018-19 season with sky-high expectations.
The 76ers were already looked at as a serious Eastern Conference threat and now with another year of experience under their belt and the departure of LeBron James to the West, Philly is ready to come back hungrier than ever.
Of course, one of the biggest storylines surrounding the Sixers this season will be last year’s first overall pick Markelle Fultz. Fultz returned towards the end of last season but questions surrounding his health status remain. Not only that, but how will the point guard fit with the Sixers’ current lineup which features Ben Simmons at the 1.
Fultz has the ability to play off the ball, but Philly already re-signed sharpshooting veteran JJ Redick to man the 2 guard role. Perhaps Fultz will come off the bench as he did towards the end of last year, giving them a legitimate extra playmaking element in their second-unit.
However, the 76ers plan to operate this season, Simmons along with budding superstar Joel Embiid give them an elite nucleus to work with going forward.
