The Ole Miss Rebels have picked up the commitment of 2021 four-star point guard Daeshun Ruffin. He was originally committed to the Auburn Tigers but reopened his commitment in June of 2019. A year later almost to the date he has decided to commit to Head Coach Kermit Davis and the Ole Miss basketball program. This is a significant pickup for a program that needs an infusion of talent.

This is the second Top 50 commit that Ole Miss has picked up in the past year. The 2020 class had top 40 guard Matthew Murrell along with Arizona State transfer Romello White. Head Coach Kermit Davis has begun building up a new and improved program with the Ole Miss Rebels. Ruffin could be one of the better freshmen guards in two years when he joins the Ole Miss program. Murrell and Ruffin will be the best two ranked recruits that have ever been with the school.

The expectations for Ole Miss will be fairly high in a couple of years if both players stay and reach their full potential. These are the types of players that teams would ideally want to build a program around. Ole Miss could be highly competitive in the SEC soon and with that, they could continue to make their program better. Ruffin is a talented point guard that could help change the Ole Miss program.
