Less than 24 hours after suiting up to take the court in the first annual 2 Chainz vs. Snoop celebrity basketball game, 2 Chainz has announced the title of his fifth solo album. In an Instagram post earlier this afternoon, 2 Chainz broke the news with a short video that included a large blimp that read, “Rap or Go to the League.” In the caption, 2 Chainz touched on the album’s content by writing, “With the height of racial tensions across America I felt I should do my part in explaining some of the brainwashing formulas used in my community. This album not only touches on those who did succeed thru entertainment but those who didn’t.”
The album comes as a great surprise to fans of the Atlanta based entrepreneur who just dropped his The Play Don’t Care Who Makes It EP last week. Considering that he released his Pretty Girls Like Trap Music project less than a year ago, this is the fastest turnaround between albums for the Atlanta emcee who turned 40 in September. If the reaction fans had to his newest EP and latest album is any indication as to how fans will receive his fifth solo album then he is in a good place.
I feel like @2chainz should also publish a business management book called "The Play Don't Care Who Makes It." There are a lot of professionals who would do well to wrap their heads around that title, IMO.
