Def Pen Video Premiere!
The Brooklyn duo of WordSmiff & ReQ Cartier are here to prove they’re a force to be reckoned with. Their joint mixtape, Brooklyn’s Finest is certainly on the way and everything these two have done up until this point has been well worth the listen or view. Since they announced the project we have received quite the body of work whether it be a new single or visual. Having a supporting video for each song is necessary especially with the way fans soak up new content from artist nowadays.
To date, Smiff & ReQ have released ‘Young Gods‘, ‘Welcome To The Summer‘, ‘I’m On It‘ and their most recent single produced by Boi-1da, ‘Straight Jacket‘.
Having videos for ‘Young Gods’ & ‘Welcome To The Summer’ in the books, we change our focus to the DJ Mustard produced ‘I’m On It’. Having first being dropped via Apple Music, keeping the visuals fresh, original and fun is the formula for these two and that is no different for this one. Shot by Julius Stukes, the video was directed by WordSmiff and co-written by @COol_1ne who happens to play his version of ‘Black Jesus’ throughout the duration of the video.
You know they said Jesus turned water into wine well Black Jesus made a bottle of Hennessy appear out of thin air, clearly Black Jesus is the life of the party in this video. He also convinces the two Brooklyn rappers to not only steal him a hat that eventually didn’t match the silk he had on, we last leave everyone as they Milly Rock on top of a truck. Black Jesus steals the show again as he Dabs with such finesse and doesn’t spill his Henny.
