In 2017, there were few movies bigger than the Gal Gadot led Wonder Woman box office hit. In the midst of Marvel’s domination of superhero films, Wonder Woman made a huge statement at the box office by bringing in nearly a billion dollars. Beyond the box office, the film made a huge statement for young women around the world who finally saw themselves represented on the big screen of a superhero film in a significant way.

Following the success of the first film, the crew of the first film have begun working on the sequel titled, Wonder Woman 1984. While the plot of the film has been kept under wraps for the most part, DC Entertainment has given fans a quick peak into what the newest Wonder Woman film could hold. This morning, fans got to see the first photos taken on set for the film. One photo featured Gadot taking in television from the 1980’s while the other featured Gadot’s boyfriend in the film, Chris Pine, walking down a hallway. The second pictured appeared to be more significant than the first because Pine appeared to be left for dead in the last film.

Later in the day, fans got another surprise look at the film when a fan caught Chris Pine and Gal Gadot filming in Washington, D.C. While the duo didn’t appear to be actively shooting a scene, they were being given direction from director, Patty Jenkins, and followed by a major film crew. Pine even teased the fan recording the set by mimicking her filming him. As you could imagine, she freaked out in excitement.
Wonder Woman 1984 is tentatively set to be released on December 1st 2019. Stay tuned for more details.
