Westside Gunn has released his first album with Shady Records, Who Made The Sunshine. The new project from the Griselda artist features New York heavyweight such as Smoke DZA, Benny The Butcher, Jadakiss, Busta Rhymes, Armani Caesar and others. It also includes Hip-Hop icons such as Slick Rick and Black Thought. Behind the scenes, Daringer, Beat Butcher, The Alchemist, Just Blaze and Conductor Williams have offered productions for the album.
Alongside the project, he’s releasing a short film about the three years he spent in Alabama before getting locked up. The documentary centers around his mother, Connie, who provides stories about the rapper’s past and personality. During the film, he gifts his mother a new car as well.
The album is slated to be one of his final releases before his impending retirement. This year, he’s released FLYGOD is an Awesome God II and Pray For Paris. Moving forward, he’s continuing to work on a joint project with Madlib and Hall & Nash 2 with Conway The Machine.
