If you’re a fan of the books you’re already ecstatic about the movie finally coming to fruition. Today, Peter Jackson who is the filmmmaker of both the Lord of The Rings & The Hobbit released the first trailer for the film adaptation of the teen novel series the ‘Mortal Engines’. The book focuses on a futuristic, steampunk version of London, now a giant machine striving to survive on a world running out of resources, which isn’t really different from the current United Kingdom really.
While there’s no telling what we can expect from a movie that sounds like a mixture of Mad Max and Willy Wonka & the chocolate factory, the trailer does give us quite a bit to chew on. So without further ado, the trailer for Peter Jackson’s ‘Mortal Engines’:
The movie also comes with a tremendously talented cast which includes Hugo Weaving, Leila George D’Onforio, Robert Sheehan, Colin Salmon, Stephen Lang & Hera Hilmarsdottir. This will be the first instalment in what hopes to be a franchise film, especially with this movie being the representation of the first in a 4 book novel series. People should be excited that Peter Jackson is jumping into something that isn’t Lord of the Rings but this movie does have a lot of hype around it and we all know what that means. The more hype, the more disappointment. Lets hope that’s not the case for Peter Jackson and cast.
