If you weren’t up late last night watching the Portland Trail Blazers vs. The Golden State Warriors in over time, then what were you doing? The thrilling game ended after one over time in Portland, as the Warriors won 132-125 to take a 3-1 series leading, heading into Oakland on Wednesday. Only 9 teams have ever came back from a 3-1 deficit, and Draymond Green isn’t looking to make the Blazers the 10th.
In the NBA, or in sports, you usually don’t call your victories before you actually achieve them, because it could backfire badly, but the confidence of Draymond Green is relentless, and after Game 3 on Monday, his confidence is high:
Confidence at it’s finest from Draymond Green. If I were in his shoes, I would feel the same way. The Blazers were up 10 points at half time, but couldn’t stop the play of Klay Thompson who scored 23 points and the return of Stephen Curry. In Curry’s first game back, he struggled to find his shot in the 1st half, but came on fire in the 4th quarter and over time, scoring 17 points in OT for the Warriors. The reigning 2-time MVP, finished with 40 points in his first game back after missing about 2 weeks with a MCL injury. The 17 points scored by Curry in OT was the most ever in playoffs or the regular season, just going to show you that he really is back in full form.
Draymond Green knows that, and is basically saying that this series was over as soon as Curry stepped onto the court. Heading into the Oracle on Wednesday will be a tough task for a resilient and hard-working Blazers squad that did everything it really could to stay competitive in this series. Draymond Green and the Warriors look to advance to the Western Conference Finals for the 2nd time in a row on Wednesday in Oakland.
