Keep Dreaming Vlade.
It’s been a rough offseason for the Kings. There’s already turmoil in the front office, the team’s best player apparently doesn’t get along with the coach, and they can’t sign any free agents. They did, however, steal one free agent according to the head decision maker in Sacramento Vlade Divac says: Rajon Rondo.
Vlade Divac doesn’t feel like the Kings are taking a chance/gamble on Rajon Rondo. Known him a long time – says Kings stole Rondo

Rondo signed with the Kings this offseason for one year worth $9.5 million. Rondo had an “interesting” half a season with the Mavericks, where that relationship was pretty much over as soon as it started. Rondo was clearly over payed by the Kings and might be being over hyped by Divac.
There was a point in time when Rondo was one of the top point guards in the league, but are those days over? This past season made it sure seem like it, which is why I think Vlade Divac is delusional, just look at the trade he made with the Sixers.
Now if Rondo can go back to playing like 2012-2013 Rajon Rondo, then yes that could be a steal of a deal, but then another team will be calling and probably steal him from the Kings.
Whether Vlade Divac wants to admit it or not, signing Rondo is a gamble not a steal. Whether luck is on the Kings side or not, that we’ll find out eventually.
