During a recent interview, Vince Staples told DJ Hed that he’s one of the best 5,000 rappers of all time. This week, he dropped another album that may move him a bit closer to being one of the top 4,000 rappers of all time.
Vince Staples’ self-titled album is led by “Law of Averages.” The Kenny Beats produced track is both addictive and a bit of a different turn from his previous album, FM! The California native delivers a number of quotables as he bounces from line to line over the downtempo production.
“Leave me ‘lone, .44 Stallone, get a n*gga gone/Raging Bull, this not Paid in Full but I kill my own/Yes, I love you ’cause you black but don’t love your ass like that/I will put you on a shirt if you f*ck me out my racks,” he raps.
One week after the first release, the veteran artist return with “Are You With That?” Much like the first single, the album intro is both laid back, but very descriptive. Like Vince Staples’ previous project, he uses the intro to paint a vivid portrait of life in Long Beach.
The time for singles has passed. Vince Staples is here to release his fourth studio album with production from Kenny Beats. Check out the full project below.
