The Washington Wizards may have been blown out at the hands of the New Orleans Pelicans, but there were still a few very impressive highlights. Most of them came from Scott Machado, including this crisp one-handed pass to Shawn Jones after he drew the defense in while driving to the rim.
This play in particular shows how smart of a basketball player Machado is by his decisions to wait for the defense to come to him before making a move to dump the ball off. Had the defense chosen to play Jones instead, Machado would have been smart enough to fake a pass and take the easy layup at the rim.

Even though the loss ended with a blowout, this play kept the score close early and kept the score from getting out of hand way too early. The layup cut the lead to 5 and allowed Washington to compete for longer without taking themselves out of the game.
Both Machado and Jones have one last chance to earn some training camp invites tonight at 10 in Las Vegas as Washington takes on the Denver Nuggets.
