When committing a foul, a player must go for the ball or else it is considered an intentional foul. The foul by Millsap on Nene may have not been as hard as most intentional fouls called, but it still should have been classified as one because there was no attempt at the ball. The first foul was just one of a many calls missed by the officials in Game 5, but in this case, the missed called actually worked in favor of Washington.
