When Joaquin Guzman, aka ‘El Chapo’, was arrested for the 3rd and final time there were rumours surrounding the idea that Guzman himself, wanted to turn his life-story into a hollywood film. Now, Netflix and Univision have turned the billionaire Mexican drug lord’s life story into an original series. The first trailer doesn’t give us much of an indication as to what kind of story it will be, but if we know anything with Netflix and south-american drug lords, this should be exhilarating.
Based on the life story of one of the world’s most notorious criminals, the series will cover the three-decade span of El Chapo’s drug trafficking career, from 1985, when he was a low-level member of the Guadalajara Cartel, to his ultimate downfall. The series is set to air in the U.S on Univision on April 23rd before becoming available on Netflix.
