The UFC has announced that it will hold its first event in Paris, France on September 3, 2022 at Accor Arena.
“I’m so excited to hold our first event in Paris this September. It will be an unbelievable night of fights and an epic historic event for the athletes and fans,” UFC President Dana White said in a press release, according to ESPN.
UFC has built itself up to be the world’s leading mixed martial arts promotion by pulling in fans and fighters from around the world. In fact, the UFC claims that it has reached 3.8 million fans in France. Additionally, the mixed martial arts promotions features French fighters like Ciryl Gane, Manon Fiorot and Nassourdine Imavov. The UFC has not revealed who will headline special event, but MMA Junkie has indicated that Gane could take on Tai Tuivasa in a premier heavyweight bout. Fiorot will also take on Katlyn Chookagian.
“In the coming months, UFC will continue to work closely with the French Boxing Federation and the French Mixed Martial Arts Federation to promote the positive impact of MMA as a sport,” the UFC stated.
Tickets for the event are expected to go on sale in June 2022.
