Earlier this week, Jack Dorsey recently finalized a massive $350 million deal to acquire 80% of TIDAL. Now, it looks like he has locked in a few more deals over at Twitter. The growing social media platform has just inked content deals with a variety of platforms including Genius, WNBA, Refinery29, Tastemade, MLB, NBC and several other companies.
“Twitter is home to the most vibrant, diverse communities and the place where fandom thrives. The premium content we’re collaborating on with our partners is igniting passion and enabling marketers to tap into the excitement of those communities and be a part of what’s happening,” Twitter executive Jennifer Price told Variety.
One of the more interesting content partnerships that Twitter has recently locked in involves Billboard. With the help of Billboard, Twitter will launch a new music chart that will chronicle the ups and downs of music on the social media platform. It is expected to refresh every 24 hours and highlight the major moments in music conversation as they happen in real-time.
Another interesting content partnership that Twitter has finalized involves NBC. At the 2021 Olympics, Twitter will expand upon the network’s top-down coverage with an enhanced social media presence. Also, the company plans to develop a daily talk show called Talkin’ Tokyo.
Overall, the social media site has locked in deals with nearly a dozen different conglomerates. Heading into 2022, Twitter has set the tone for its upcoming slate of content.
