In 2016, Donald Trump became the oldest President in U.S. history. Four year later, Joe Biden surpassed Trump, becoming the oldest President-elect in U.S. history by nearly eight full years. With that in mind, voters have raised issues about the ages of both candidates, but the two remain runaway favorites to represent their respective parties at the polls in 2024. On Monday, November 20, Biden celebrated his 81st birthday and Trump provided an update regarding his personal health. According to letter posted by the former President and a few of his aides, Trump is in “excellent health.”
“I am pleased to report that [former] President Trump’s overall health is excellent,” a statement from Dr. Bruce Aronwald reads.
“His physical exams were well within the normal range, and his cognitive exams were exceptional.”
According to the letter posted by Trump, Dr. Aronwald conducted an exam of the former President on September 13. The physician wrote that Trump’s labs were “well within normal limits” and improved from prior testing “in some of the most significant parameters.”
“[He] reduced his weight through an improved diet and continued daily physical activity, while maintaining a rigorous schedule,” the statement reads.
“It is my opinion that President Trump is currently in excellent health, and with his continued interest in preventative health monitoring and maintenance, he will continue to enjoy a healthy active lifestyle for years to come.”
