There isn’t a day that goes by that Donald Trump isn’t in the news. However, the majority of the time he’s in the news for something that doesn’t have to do with the duties of his job in the oval office. This time, he’s actually in the news for something that has to do with politics. As reported early, the TV show host turned politician will be doing some major fundraising for a key GOP candidate in New Jersey. On October 25th, the former Celebrity Apprentice host will hold a fundraiser in the nation’s capital for candidate, Jay Weber.
After the announcement was made, Weber issued a statement that read, “I am thankful to have the support of the President for our campaign.” He also wrote, “The economy is booming, the nation is moving forward, and Americans are confident about our future.”
Weber is currently running against Democrat Mike Sherrill. The winner will replace retiring state assemblyman, Rep. Rodney Frelinghuysen, who has held the seat for nearly two decades. Early polls from FiveThirtyEight.com have Sherrill in the lead as we head towards election day. Voters in the state of New Jersey can hit the polls on November 6th to cast their ballots.
