Top 10 Web Design Tips to Keep in Mind

The importance of good website design is beyond doubt!
Successful website design: simple rules with web development services.

Tip # 1. Avoid using primary colors

Anyone who has an art education will immediately understand what it is about. These are the primary colors: red, blue and yellow. All other colors are obtained by mixing the primary ones. It is best to avoid using these colors, because in this case the design will look primitive to the point of vulgarity.

Tip # 2. Use the optimal number of colors in your design

Usually, they say that 2-3 colors are optimal. Where does this number come from? The fact is that the design of the site differs from the design of leaflets, brochures, postcards and other printed products. Its main principle is not to interfere with the perception of information, which can be much more on the site than in any other advertising medium.
However, there are exceptions everywhere – the site may not be so informative, besides, a professional designer can always make a bright design that will not interfere with the perception of information and at the same time it cannot be called lifeless, faceless, boring and without mood.

Tip # 3. Don’t pick colors by eye

We all know that different computers display colors differently. Because everyone has different video cards with different settings and nothing can be done about it. If you choose colors by eye, it may well be that on another computer they will seem not just different, but it turns out that they do not match at all.

Tip # 4. Use trendy colors, but those that will not lose their relevance for a long time

There is a fashion for colors, as well as for clothes. And she is just as fickle. If you decide to make a strict, official design, then everything is simple here – we use the usual, neutral, strict colors and combinations (black, white, gray, shades of blue, blue, etc.) – and such a design will not lose its relevance for a long time.
But if you are in a completely different situation and this option does not suit you, you will face the problem of choosing colors.

Tip # 5. Try not to use the color scheme of your competitors.

It often happens that a certain topic evokes the same associations. The classics of the genre are combinations of white and red-brown colors – this is almost 80% of the sample, there are also white + beige of varying intensity to orange. In some cases, there are sites in whose range green and white are used as primary colors.

Tip # 6. Avoid flashy color combinations in your business website designs

As a rule, they are not relevant there. Although, you can find exceptions here as well. Read more on fireart.studio.

Tip # 7. When choosing fonts, do not go to extremes

For a long time, everyone was talking about how bad it is to use serif and handwritten fonts in website design, because they are difficult to read and in general it is bad manners. However, all of a sudden, everything changed. And recently, a lot of handwritten fonts have appeared, devoid of the lack of “difficult reading” and excessive decorativeness.

Tip #8. Work out the details

Good work can be seen in the elaborate details. A modest, neat design can look great, because the designer paid attention to the little things:
for the substrates he used unobtrusive;
almost imperceptible gradients;
soft shadows;
almost transparent highlights on objects;
the use of some decorative elements – all this makes the design more lively, voluminous, expressive and harmonious.

Tip #9. Choosing a background

There is a simple, universal advice here – give up in favor of a white background from the background image, pattern and color fill – then it will definitely not be bad! However, if the situation requires it, then use whatever is needed and the pattern and background image and texture, but competently and intelligently, and do not forget that these elements should not interfere with the perception of information.

Tip # 10. Do not forget about easy navigation, usability and correctly place accents

Start by creating a convenient navigation, place all the important elements of the site on the working area. And only after that move on to design. Ideally, you should wrap your user-friendly interface in a good design, like in a package.
