Tom Petty, an American rockstar, was found dead from a heart attack Monday evening. He was 66.
He is known for his songs “Free Fallin,'” “American Girl,” and “Refugee.” Petty was the frontman for the Heartbreakers band, and was inducted in the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 2002.
Tom Petty’s work was sampled twice in hip hop. First, Pimp C flipped Petty’s “Free Fallin'” into “I’m Free” which was released in 2006. Three years later, Chamillionaire took Petty’s original and put his own twist to it on “Good Morning.”
