A global pandemic that has closed every music venue and shut down every music festival seems to be nothing more than a small hurdle for many artists. Over the last few weeks, artists, producers and DJs alike have turned to Instagram live to celebrate their crafts. Meanwhile, PartyNextDoor and The Weeknd have dropped their long awaited albums. Not to mention, artists like Kehlani have used self-isolation as a way to create visuals from their homes. Houston’s own Tobe Nwigwe has also decided to use his home as a new canvas to create on.
Kicking off his home quarantine series, Tobe Nwigwe has paid tribute to the late, great Aaliyah. In his first video, the Houston native brings together David Michael Wyatt, Fat and the rest of the crew for a jam session.
Riffing off the late singer’s “One In A Million” hit, Tobe raps, “I’ve been on Uber Eats all day long. We’re about to do this quarantine series all day long.”
Given the circumstances, it’s nice to see some finding light in a time of darkness. Check out the first installment of the quarantine series above.
