Tiffany Haddish is building herself up to be a media mogul for years to come. She recently put together a special for Netflix called Tiffany Haddish: Black Mitzvah. She also appeared in a music video with Ty Dolla $ign earlier this year and Haddish is hosting the reboot of Kids Say the Darndest Things. Not to mention, she’s rumored to be the front runner to fill Ellen DeGeneres’s daytime talk slot in the coming months. With all of that going on, she’s found time to expand her acting resume.
Tiffany Haddish will reportedly star as Florence Griffith Joyner in an upcoming biopic. Haddish will also serve as an executive producer alongside Basil Iwanyk and Greg Economou. Rounding out the production crew, Joyner’s widower and former coach, Al Joyner, will work as a creative consultant and producer for the film.
Joyner is a track and field icon known for her blazing speed and incredible style. In 1988, she set world records in both the 100-meter dash and 200-meter dash. Thirty years later, those records still stand. During her groundbreaking run, she earned three gold medals and two silver medals at the Summr Olympic Games.
