To prepare for the 2015 NBA Draft, the Washington Wizards will be holding a pre-draft working for 6 different former college athletes. Headlined by former Maryland standout Dez Wells, the workout also includes Arizona forward Brandon Ashley, UC Davis guard Corey Hawkins, Iona forward David Laury, Serbia forward Nikola Radicovic, and UNLV guard Rashad Vaughn.
Wells led Maryland all the way to round of 32 before falling to West Virginia 69-59. In his senior season, Wells found himself the go-to guy while averaging 15.1 points, 5.3 rebounds, 2.8 assists, 1 steal, and .4 blocks per game. If he can turn himself into more of a guard rather than guard/forward combo, Wells could find himself a spot in the league simply with his competitive edge.
The workouts being held this season are proving the team is looking towards adding depth rather than a single star. The moves being made thus far will certainly prepare the Wizards to make some picks, or ever trade down in the draft to youthenize their bench.
