As time goes on, the work of the gone far too soon actor Anton Yelchin continues to be released. With each new film or television series that is released it sadly inches closer and closer to the point in which there will be no more content in which we can admire new work by the promising young actor. One of the last pieces in his library that has yet to be released is the film ‘Thoroughbreds’. The film also features upstarts Olvia Cooke and Anya Taylor-Joy and focuses on a plot to kill an overbearing (and potentially more) father. The film seems to be a dark comedy with lots of social commentary which could lead to the film being a sleeper hit at the box office when it is released next year.
We’ve attached the trailer and full synopsis for ‘Thoroughbreds’ below.
‘Childhood friends Lily and Amanda reconnect in suburban Connecticut after years of growing apart. Lily has turned into a polished, upper-class teenager, with a fancy boarding school on her transcript and a coveted internship on her resume; Amanda has developed a sharp wit and her own particular attitude, but all in the process of becoming a social outcast. Though they initially seem completely at odds, the pair bond over Lily’s contempt for her oppressive stepfather, Mark, and as their friendship grows, they begin to bring out one another’s most destructive tendencies. Their ambitions lead them to hire a local hustler, Tim, and take matters into their own hands to set their lives straight.’ Via Focus Features
