Hailing from Kansas City, there is a new force coming out of the midwest. Self described as a dark Hip-Hop musical duo, the group has made a name for themselves by performing at Boulevardia, Wonderfest and a number of other events across the region.
When describing their mission in music, the duo told Hear Queer, “We make music to create an environment of embrace for weird black people. The kind of stuff we could’ve found community in, in our own youth.”
They added, “We want our music to encourage autonomy, to remind ourselves of the humanity we are regularly disallowed. We get in our feelings but still want it to mean more than just that.”
Hoping to take a step closer to reaching that goal, The Black Creatures have dropped a new project called Wild Echoes. Comprised of a dozen new records, Wild Echoes has a dark, eerie, yet inviting vibe that is easy to get lost in. Most notably, the duo shines on tracks like “U N I Verse” and “Wild”.
