Teyana Taylor is back in her directing bag with new video for Issues/Hold On. Dubbing herself “Spike Tee”, in homage to Academy Award-winning director Spike Lee, Teyana Taylor adds creative cinematic visuals for the short love song.
Her career as a musical artist continues to rise. Billboard reports Teyana Taylor will perform during NYC Pride Island 2019, a line-up including the legendary Grace Jones and Brazillian drag star, Pabllo Vittar. Although her album rollout for Keep That Same Energy, released under G.O.O.D. Music, did receive any award nominations, Elton John exclaims K.T.S.E. as “one of the best albums I heard last year” reports Fader.

The nostalgic aesthetic Teyana Taylor favors adds a classic layer to the track itself. Sporting afros, sideburns and bell bottoms, the cast engage in a wedding uniting Teyana Taylor and A$AP Rocky. As the couple enters the real world after marriage bliss, we watch the ups and downs unfold. Through it all, the husband and wife get their steamy, happy ending.
At just over three minutes long, Issues/Hold On tells the story of a love worth fighting for. Teyana Taylor also took the directors hat for video Gonna Love Me Remix featuring Wu-Tang Clan members as well as WTP.
