Ava DuVernay has got a whole lot going on and she manages to hold it all together gracefully. Currently, Ava DuVernay is currently working on a new film called New Gods, a new mini series called When They See Us and another network television series called The Red Line. Not to mention, she’s just secured a large deal with Warner Bros. for the foreseeable future. With all of that going on, DuVernay is locked in for a new season of her original series, Queen Sugar.

Queen Sugar is set to return to the OWN Network on Wednesday, June 12th with amazing stories to tell. In addition, the series will also have an array of woman directing each episode this season. Today, Queen Sugar added another wrinkle to its highly anticipated return.
R&B singer, Tevin Campbell, took to Twitter to share that he would be joining the Queen Sugar team. Campbell wasn’t entirely clear on what he’d be doing on the show. However, he did say, “I’m on the set of Queen Sugar, baby! I’ve had a talk with everybody and all the characters, but we’re not going to get into that. This is so exciting for me. I want to thank Ava DuVernay.”
In the next few weeks, we’ll hopefully learn more about Campbell’s involvement in the upcoming season. In the meantime, check out his video above.
