
Kyrie Irving has never been one to shy away from the spotlight in his NBA career but this year he’s jumping into another spotlight, Hollywood. The highly anticipated ‘Uncle Drew’ movie is finally coming this year. About 5 years ago, Kyrie Irving and Pepsi partnered together to bring a commercial starring ‘Uncle Drew’ an old timer that you did want to be stuck guarding on the basketball courts. 10 Commercials later and one short-film done, ‘Uncle Drew’ wants to transition to the big stage. Without further ado, here is the feature film ‘Uncle Drew’ starring Kyrie Irving, Shaquille O’Neal, Reggie Miller, Nate Robinson, Chris Webber, Tiffany Haddish, Nick Kroll and Lil Rel Howery.

This Lionsgate production will be coming out on June 29th which should be right around when the NBA Finals end, so if Irving can lead the Celtics to their first Finals appearance in 10 years, that will be quite the week for ‘Uncle Drew’. Regardless, fans of Irving and of the NBA or basketball in general will be piling into the theatres to watch this movie and with the star-studded cast, you can tell why. June 29th, mark your calendar.
