
From director Ang Lee comes the film adaptation of Ben Fountain’s bestselling novel Billy Lynn’s Long Halftime Walk. The story is told from the point of view of the all-too-young private Billy Lynn, who is played by Joe Alwyn. After a traumatizing battle in Iraq makes the 19-year-old soldier a hero, he and his squadron are brought home for a victory tour. A series of flashbacks reveals the true events of the battle, mandating a harsh comparison between the realities of war and the public’s perception of it (IMDb).
The film is produced by Simon and Stephen Cornwell, with Marc Platt, Tom Rothman, and Rhodri Thomas. Featuring an ensemble cast including Garrett Hedlund, Vin Diesel, Kristen Stewart, Steve Martin, Chris Tucker, and Ben Platt, Billy Lynn’s Long Halftime Walk will be released on November 11.
