Gibson, an eight-year veteran drafted out of USC, will give the Timberwolves some much-needed depth in the frontcourt alongside Karl-Anthony Towns and Gorgui Dieng.
Gibson played in 78 games with the Bulls and Thunder this past season, averaging 10.8 points and 6.2 rebounds in 25.5 minutes per contest.
He spent his first six seasons playing for the Bulls under current Wolves head coach Tom Thibodeau. Gibson will also reunite with former teammate Jimmy Butler in Minnesota, who also played under Thibodeau in Chicago.
Known as a high-energy forward off the bench, Gibson is also a highly respected figure in the locker room.
Gibson, 32, was traded from the Bulls to the Thunder at the February trade deadline.
