It’s been a long time coming, but fans appear to be on the cusp of getting all the new Lil’ Wayne music they have desperately needed over the last few years. Wayne’s long legal battle with Birdman and Universal Music Group appears to be in its final act and we appear to be moving closer to receiving new music from Mr. Carter. Earlier this week, Wayne teased the possibility of releasing Tha Carter V, but it appears that fans may have to wait another week. Instead, fans have received a pretty damn good consolation prize.
After teasing the collaboration for some time, Swizz Beatz and Wayne have teamed up to put out their new record, “Pistol On My Side”. On the new record, Wayne appears to not have missed a beat. Lil’ Wayne raps, “Pistol on my side, now he lying like the media/Clips longer than encyclopedias, you’re reading ’em/Double barrel, long barrel, short barrel, medium /We ain’t hitting licks, we beating them and repeating them/Sugar in the coffee, sugar in the Morphine/Sugar sweet codeine, it ain’t purple, then I’m barfing.” Check out the new record in its entirety above and stay tuned for more news about the release of Tha Carter V.
