Things are about to stranger than ever before in Hawkins, Indiana.
Netflix dropped the final trailer for Stranger Things 3 on Friday and I’m not ready. Chief Hopper himself, David Harbour, already warned fans about an “unexpected” third season and this trailer seems to echo that.
Season 2 ended with Eleven closing the gate to the Upside-Down, seemingly trapping the Mind-Flayer back inside. So, going into season 3, most fans expected the series to bring in an entirely new threat. However, this trailer reveals that’s not the case as the Mind-Flayer actually got trapped in our world, rather than the Upside-Down. It decided not to attack again immediately though as it’s apparently been looking for a new host.
Fast forward a couple of years to the start of season 3 and, according to the trailer, it’s found one in Billy. That’s right, everyone’s favorite H&M model is getting an upgrade this season and judging from this trailer, that’s NOT good news for the rest of Hawkins. I also think the new Mayor Kline, played by Cary Elwes, may have a role to play in the Mind-Flayer’s plans. He appears briefly in this trailer but doesn’t have any lines. (Unless that opening monologue is him but, that’s most likely Mind-Flayer Billy.)
