It is no secret that Drake is listed as an executive producer of the hit HBO series, Euphoria. However, it’s always been unclear how involved he is in creating the final product. During a recent interview with Kelly Clarkson, Euphoria star Storm Reid broke down just how involved he is in the show’s production.
“He’s really involved. We were doing table reads for season 2 a couple of months back, and of course, like you’re not expecting Drake to be at your table read,” she told Clarkson.
“I pull up to the lot and he’s there with all of his homies, it’s him and then his business partner, Future the Prince, and they literally sat through, I think it was a three-hour table read ’cause we went through a couple of episodes.”
Drake is no stranger to the silver screen. Before he was known the world as Drake, he played the role of Jimmy Brooks on Degrassi. Reid believes that Drake’s background in acting has connected him to the show’s production in a real way.
“He was so involved and so in tune and you don’t really expect that from a person. I know that he’s a brilliant businessman and creative,” Reid explained.
“But I mean he’s Drake, he doesn’t really have to pay attention in the table read and he did.”
Drake may not be stopping here. Recently, HBO Max also announced that it would be developing a reboot of Degrassi: Next Generation. While Drake isn’t listed as a produce just yet, it would surprise no one if he decides to get involved. The show is set to begin production in his hometown of Toronto later this year.
