In 2020, fans can expect the release of a new Wonder Woman film, Mulan, Birds of Prey, Bond 25, Bad Boys For Life and many more. Joining the incredible slate for the next calendar year is the long awaited Sopranos prequel, Newark.
Warner Bros. has announced that the new Sopranos prequel will be released on September 25th 2020. The film is tentatively titled Newark and will be co-produced by David Chase and Lawrence Konner. Behind the camera, Alan Taylor will direct the highly anticipated movie. In front of the camera, the film will star Alesandro Nivola, Vera Farmiga, Ray Liotta, Corey Stoll, John Magaro, Michael Gandolfini and Jon Bernthal.
Details of the plot have not been released, but the film is set to be set in Newark, New Jersey during the 1960’s when the city experienced serious racial tensions. These tensions eventually boiled over and became deadly when some of the city’s biggest gangs became embroiled in the standoff.
