Yes, you read the headline correctly. Yes the above image is the actually title confirming the crossover. Yes it is happening.
When the idea of a Men In Black, 21 Jump Street crossover was first proposed, the world stopped and united in confusion. Some quickly dismissed the idea, but Sony is moving forward with the idea. The crossover was first revealed back when Sony’s emails were constantly being hacked a little over a year ago.
Thanks to Screen Rant attending Cinemacon obtaining these details from Sony’s panel. There’s still little details available on what the movie will ensue, but it has to deliver if Sony wants this to succeed.
21 Jump Street producers Phil Lord and Chris Miller are on board to produce the crossover. It’s being reported that the studio are eyeing James Bobin to direct the film. Principal photography for the title will start as early as June 2016.
Channing Tatum and Jonah Hill will reprise their reoccurring roles as Jenko and Schmidt, but Will Smith and Tommy Lee Jones aren’t expected to reprise their roles as Agents J and K. Without Smith and Tommy returning, Sony can possibly be looking to reboot the franchise with fresh faces.
Stick around for more details on the title as they emerge.
