Deciding whether to stay or leave a relationship that’s toxic isn’t as easy as people make it seem when you factor in how deep your love is for a person. Sometimes an individual can get so consumed with having a significant other that they get lost and lose sight of who they are as an individual. Sonya Teclai’s latest video is for a song that speaks on those thoughts and scenarios of staying or leaving. With releasing her latest project, the “Heatwave” EP, Sonya is back and decided to liberate an official music video for “Far Away” off the EP.
“Far Away” is a record that catches our songstress struggling with a love “interest” who she gave her all to and even went about curving other dudes who tried to spit game to her or as she goes on to say;
I gave you the green light
Holding down this fort like you’re inside
No reply, to the n*ggas in the street
Spittin’ sweet nothings through their teeth wide
Seat tight, I’ma be ridin’ until I’m dying next to you with a barrel full of heat
Right
She was a ride or die and instead of giving her all to the point where she died (so to speak), letting go and moving on was the best option. But that won’t stop her from still loving from far away as she will still dream about the once love in her life.
Loving you is like a drug for me
And there is no cure for it I will OD
Brought heaven down for you, You’re raising hell for me
So if this is the end, I swear that I will still dream about you
Keeping things simple for the video and letting herself be the focal point with her captivating lyrics, sound and delivery controlling the experience, I wonder who is the person that helped lead to such a song, we say thank you whoever you are… Check out the official video below. Last but not least her Heatwave EP was provided sort of a face lift giving us a Chopped Not Slopped remix by Slim K and hosted by Mike G of Odd Future. So after the video make sure you listen to “TRILLWAVE”.
