TBS’ adaptation of the 2013 film Snowpiercer got revealed to the world. During the series’ panel at Comic-Con on Saturday, a trailer for the show was shown as well as some exclusive first-look footage. Cast members Jennifer Connelly, Daveed Diggs, Alison Wright, Mickey Sumner, Lena Hall, and Steven Ogg were on-hand to discuss the show.
Set in a post-apocalyptic future, Snowpiercer tells the story of humanity, or what’s left of it after the world has become an icy wasteland. After the earth became uninhabitable, those who survived were forced onto the titular train as it circles the globe endlessly.
Set seven years into humanity’s time on the train, Snowpiercer explores socio-political issues such as class warfare and government control. The show will follow Diggs’ Andre Layton, a resident of one of the impoverished cars at the back of the train. Whether on purpose or not, Layton catches the attention of Connelly’s Melanie Cavill as the train sits on the brink of revolution. The show has already been renewed for a second season.

Snowpiercer premieres sometime in Spring 2020 on TBS.
