‘Snowpiercer’ will be released uncut in the US.
Director Bong Joo-Ho has been battling with distributor The Weinstein Company who wanted to cut the South Korean film by 20 minutes and add a voice over.
Deadline is reporting that the two have reached an agreement that the film will have a limited release in the US but will be shown in its full length.
The film takes place in the future after attempts to stop global warming have brought about an endless winter. The population is forced to live on a train that travels around the globe and is divided by hierarchies in different compartments of the train. When an uprising begins in the back of the train, it could change the coarse of humanity.
‘Snowpiercer’ stars Chris Evans, Tilda Swinton, Octavia Spencer and Jamie Bell and has yet to receive a release date.
