Plans have changed.
Warner Bros. Pictures will no longer distribute its horror film, Sinners, beginning Friday, March 7. Instead, the highly-anticipated release will hit theaters Friday, April 18 instead.
Sinners is one of the most highly-anticipated horror films in recent memory. Directed by Ryan Coogler, the film will feature Michael B. Jordan (Black Panther, Just Mercy), Delory Lindo (Da 5 Bloods, The Harder They Fall), Hailee Steinfeld (Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse, The Marvels) and Omar Benson Miller (Ballers, 8 Mile).
“From Ryan Coogler—director of Black Panther and Creed—and starring Michael B. Jordan comes a new vision of fear: Sinners,” a statement from Warner Bros. Pictures reads.
“Trying to leave their troubled lives behind, twin brothers (Jordan) return to their hometown to start again, only to discover that an even greater evil is waiting to welcome them back.”
Sinners is the latest entry in Coogler and Jordan’s growing filmography of collaborations. Previously, the two have worked on Fruitvale Station, Creed and Black Panther. Coogler has also worked as producer on Creed II and Creed III with Jordan.
“We talk about this often: If Ryan and I grew up in the same city and went to the same school, we’d have been best friends. There’s a bond and a brotherhood there that I’m proud of,” Jordan said of his friendship with Coogler.
Moving forward, the duo is reportedly working to develop a film called Wrong Answer. Written by Ta-Nehisi Coates, the film will portray the stories of high school teachers in Atlanta, Georgia who participated in a ystemic standardized-test cheating scandal in 2013.
