“Your boy is back. Everything is lit,” Sheff G proclaims as he returns from a lengthy hiatus.
As he continues to fight a litany of criminal charges levied by Brooklyn District Attorney Eric Gonzalez, Sheff G has been released on bail and made his way back into the studio. Two years removed from the release of From The Can, the Brooklyn native has reasserted himself in New York’s burgeoning Rap and R&B scene with a Great John-produced anthem that is both celebratory and foreshadowing.
Floating above Great John’s airy, yet ominous production, Sheff G delivers a series of celebratory bars about going out with friends, buying luxury items and much more in his signature cadence. He also make his presence felt in the first verse with a bold declaration.
“I’m the man. W’s up! We [are] the n—s winning in the city,” he raps.
Sheff G may be two years removed from his last project, but he’s far from deterred. In a city littered with emerging acts, including Lola Brooke, Cash Cobain, Chow Lee, Maiya the Don, Billy B, Ice Spice and many others, the Brooklyn native has no doubts about his ability to maintain his status in the birthplace of Hip-Hop. In other words, he’s hungry for more. Sleepy Hallow is hungry for more. Great John is hungry for more. And Winners’ Circle Entertainment is preparing to make a statement this summer.
