Conflict in Israel and Palestine continues to dominate headlines. On October 7, Hamas forces reportedly attacked Israel, leaving approximately 1,300 dead. Additionally, nearly 1,800 people have been killed in Gaza, according to the Palestinian health ministry. In response, the State Department has organized flights to evacuate U.S. residents. Moving forward, the 26th Marine Expeditionary Unit is reportedly preparing to potentially enter the area. However, Senator Tim Scott says it’s too little too late and accused President Joe Biden of having “blood on his hands.”
“While Hamas carried out these attacks, Joe Biden has blood on his hands,” Senator Tim Scott said while addressing the Hudson Institute on Tuesday, October 10.
“His weakness invited the attack. His cash giveaway to Iran helped fund terrorism. And after the attack, his administration suggested Israel should stand down. It’s a disgrace.”
President Joe Biden has not directly replied to Scott, but the South Carolina Democratic Party has. South Carolina Democratic Party Chairperson Christale Spain accused Scott of trying to distract others from his lack of experience in foreign policy.
“While President Biden is supporting our allies and leading on the world stage in the wake of the horrific attack on Israel, Tim Scott is desperately trying to distract from his lack of foreign policy creds and failure to deliver for the thousands of American service members at South Carolina’s eight military bases and across the world,” Spain countered.
