Does anyone remember Terminator Genisys? Don’t feel badly if you can’t recall, because the summer flick bombed both with critics and audiences. Because of this, the possibility of a sixth sequel was considered absurd.
Apparently, it’s not so absurd to Arnold Schwarzenegger, who was asked about the possibility by Richard Wilkins in an interview. As reported by the UK’s Telegraph, this is what Schwarzenegger said in the interview:
“I am looking forward to it, absolutely.”
Although Genisys only gained $89 million at the US box office, the film actually did fairly well overseas. The international box office came in at being $350 million, and the film was particularly successful in China.
Despite Schwarzenegger’s confidence in the probability of another addition to the franchise, Paramount may not be on board. Last we heard, the studio pulled the previously planned sequel from its scheduled March 2017 release. However, perhaps things have changed? We’ll just all have to wait until Paramount chimes in with a statement.
