In today’s landscape of Hip-Hop, we’re able to hear a number of great projects year after year after year. Last year, Jay-Z, Beyonce, Eminem, Drake, J. Cole and many more dropped solid projects. This year, we’ve already heard from Queen B, 2 Chainz and Anderson .Paak. Going forward, we have a number of great albums on the way from Chance The Rapper, DJ Khaled and J. Cole. One of the albums set to drop this week is ScHoolBoy Q’s CrasH Talk.
CrasH Talk will serve as ScHoolBoy Q’s fifth album and his first since 2016. Set to drop Friday, the new project will include the singles, “Numb Numb Juice” and “CHopstix“. In addition, the May album will also feature Travis Scott, 6LACK, Lil’ Baby, Kid Cudi, 21 Savage, YG and many more.
During the lead up to the album’s release, ScHoolBoy Q stopped by The Breakfast Club to talk about the project. While he was there, one of the show’s producers had a question for the T.D.E artist. Through Angela Yee, the producer asked, “When are we getting a Black Hippy album?” ScHoolBoy Q answered, “Black Hippy will probably never happen. I keep saying it over and over again. No matter how much you want it, [it won’t happen]. The chances of us all getting in the studio [are slim].” Luckily, he did provide a bit of hope at the end. The California native said, “If you want Black Hippy so much, tell one of the other artists to start it and I’ll send my verses. I’ll come to the studio.”
There’s a bit of hope that we will get a Black Hippy project. In the meantime, get ready for ScHoolBoy Q’s CrasH Talk this Friday.
