Scarlett Johansson is a legend on the screen and she will soon be a legend at the bank. The Hollywood Reporter reports that the star actress has landed a $15 million payday for her upcoming Black Widow film. The Hollywood star has appeared in six Marvel films as the superhero and will soon be featured in her first stand alone film.
While the $15 million payday may seem incredible, it’s actually reasonable when put in context. The Black Widow’s upcoming payday matches the amount Marvel shelled out to Chris Evans and Chris Hemsworth for their roles in Captain America and Thor, respectively. Hemsworth and Evan will also break the bank with a $15 million payday for their talents in the upcoming Avengers film.
The $15 million pay out is chump change for Marvel as it nears its fourth Avengers film. Ten years into the Marvel Cinematic Universe, the movie studio is able to put $100 million aside for talent deals because Avengers films cross the $1 billion mark easily. Not to mention, the last Avengers film crossed the two billion dollar mark. With a Black Widow film in the works alongside a Captain Marvel film on the way, it appears that the Marvel Cinematic Universe is in great shape.
The Black Widow film is still in the works and has not reached a release date as of yet.
